Green photograph album. [ca. 1895-1902]

This album, which has a green cloth cover with the word "Photographs" stamped in gold on the front cover, contains 70 albumen prints and one cyanotype. The photos are of scenes in Boulder, Colo.; the Arapaho Glacier, Colo.; Salt Lake, Utah; Wyoming; and the small town of Hart, Michigan. They include views of gold assaying offices and trains, etc. Some of these photographs are also in the Librarium album in this collection. Many of them are faded.

Hugh Fraser Watts was born in Wisconsin in 1870. He and his mother moved to the Boulder, Colorado, area in 1897 for health reasons. An assayer and a chemist, he married Claribel Austin in 1898 and died in Boulder in 1946. He was the father of Nina A. Watts. From the description of Hugh F.
